How an Ecosystem Pond Works for You

Natural ponds stay clear because every part of the system works together the way nature intended it to. The skimmer or intake bay collects leaves and wind-blown surface debris, preventing rotting leaves from festering at the bottom of the pond. The biological filter harbours beneficial bacteria, adding oxygenated water back into the pond. 



Further beneficial bacteria are allowed to colonise the rock and gravel within the pond to purify the water. The plants and fish add colour and texture, but their true worth is their contribution to removing excess nitrates through the nitrogen cycle within the pond. Wildlife follows naturally, bringing movement and interest to your garden.

You send a short description, photos, and the likely size of your planned investment via the website or email. This helps us understand what you want and how we can deliver it.

Discovery phone call (with optional meeting at our display garden)

We arrange a call to explore ideas, discuss design options, and decide which type of pond or feature would work for you.

On-Site Consultation

We conduct a site visit, review access, take formal measurements, assess electrical points etc, then confirm the scope and give you a clear ballpark price.

04

Book the Build

Once you’re happy with the plan and cost, we agree on the start date and schedule the build.
