A natural swim pond becomes more than a place to cool off. It becomes the heart of the garden: a spot to relax, explore and gather as a family. We use large, hand-selected boulders, safe jumping zones and optional beaches so swimmers of all ages and confidence levels can enjoy the water. Depth zones also help support aquatic life, giving you a front-row seat to dragonflies, newts and the natural world beneath the surface.
Crystal-clear water without chemicals
Our swim ponds are cleaned through a specially designed wetland filtration system that filters the water biologically using beneficial bacteria, gravel and plants.
This natural process keeps the water clear, oxygenated and safe without the need for chlorine, bromine or UV systems. These ponds lack the costly maintenance of a conventional swimming pool. Wetland filtration systems act as the pond's kidney, providing beautifully clear water from outside the pond itself. Water flows from the wetland back into the pond through streams or waterfalls, adding movement, sound and aeration. With circulation jets and intake bays, maintenance stays low and water quality remains consistently high.
Designed with safety in mind
Safety is built into every stage of a Pondmakers swim pond. We follow established depth guidance for safe swimming and jumping areas, use external pumps and low-voltage equipment, and avoid heated water so bacteria linked to high-temperature pools cannot form. With no chemicals to store, handle or balance, your swim pond stays simple, safe and ready whenever you are.
